Terms of Service — Restoc
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Restoc (the "App") is a Shopify application operated by Vincent Danneker, a sole proprietor based in Lisbon, Portugal (the "Operator", "we"). The App lets Shopify merchants notify their customers by email when an out-of-stock product becomes available again.
These terms are the agreement between the Operator and the merchant who installs the App (the "Merchant", "you"), for that merchant's store. By installing the App you accept them for your store; if you do not accept them, do not install the App, and uninstalling it ends the agreement as described below.
The service
The App collects, on a sold-out product or variant, the email address of a shopper who asks to be told when the product is available again, and emails that shopper automatically when the product returns to stock. Around that one exchange the App provides the functions described in its help centre, among them the waitlist a merchant builds and imports, a weekly recovered-sales report, and the further alert channels a merchant can choose to enable.
The App works inside your Shopify store. It reads, through Shopify's APIs and under the permissions shown when you install it, the product, inventory and order data those functions need, and it writes nothing to your store beyond what a function you use asks of it, as the privacy policy describes.
Your responsibilities
The App sends the messages your store's own facts call for, so the facts and the lists are yours to keep right:
- Only add a shopper who asked to be told about the product concerned. A list you import must be your own, collected with that same expectation; importing is your act, at your initiative.
- Keep your product and inventory data accurate: alerts follow the stock your store reports, and a restock your store does not report raises no alert.
- Use the App in line with Shopify's terms and policies and with the law that applies to your store, including the rules on electronic messages.
- Do not use the App to reach anyone who did not ask to hear from your store. The alert a shopper subscribed to, and the answers to requests they made from that alert, are the whole of what the App sends to shoppers.
Plans, trials and billing
The App is offered on the plan in force for your store; the plan, and any trial offered with it, are the ones shown on the App's pricing page and in its Shopify App Store listing at the time you install or change plan. Where the plan is a paid one, its charges are billed through Shopify, under Shopify's own billing terms, and appear on your Shopify invoice; we take no payment from you outside Shopify's billing.
Uninstalling the App stops future billing through Shopify and ends your access to the App, as the section on ending the agreement describes.
Privacy
How the App handles personal data — your store's and your shoppers' — is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Where the two documents differ on a question of personal data, the privacy policy is the one that governs it.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the App running and its alerts flowing, but the service is provided as it stands: we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, and we cannot promise that every alert will arrive. Delivery depends on Shopify, on the sending providers the App works through, and on the shopper's own inbox. A subscription is a request to be told; it is never a promise that a product will return to stock, and it reserves nothing.
We may improve, change or retire a function of the App. A change that removes a function in current use on your plan will be announced in the App before it takes effect.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the applicable law, the Operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of the App, including lost sales or lost profits and the non-delivery or late delivery of an alert. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the applicable law does not allow to be limited, and nothing in them touches a shopper's rights against your store, which remain yours alone.
Ending the agreement
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App. What then happens to billing is described above, and what happens to your store's data is described in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or end an installation that breaches these terms — in particular one used to message people who never asked — after telling you, except where the breach calls for immediate action to protect shoppers or the service.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that date means the updated terms apply to your store.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal.
